No, we never resolved the crashing issues in R5. But to be perfectly honest, we didn't spend weeks trying either.

We have seen the "applet placement" issues with other applets in R5 as well (not just my grid editor.) So we chalked it up to R5 Notes bugs and moved on with an alternate solution. We have had success with an OCX/ActiveX approach for the grid editor in Notes 5 clients. (Windows only design, though -- but acceptable for our current customer.)
